Attachment

Through this series of work I explored a question I was always curious about, how does attachment form in a world that's ever changing? As a first year college student, the first challenge I was faced with was stuffing everything I valued into 3 suitcases. So, why are these mere objects so important? I brought this exact question to my fellow first year college students, each presented me with an object of significance to them, the commonality was not the object but the memory and people held within those objects.

- Forest’s letter from his mother that he keeps in his bag at all times.

- Noa’s customised jar from her father that she keeps on her table.

- John’s ipod that his mother gave him that he keeps in his dorm table drawer

- Annaclare’s framed picture of her twin brother and her that she keeps on her bedside table.

- Hajime’s childhood puppet that he keeps on his bed.

- My wallet contains all my phone cards, identification, and letters from friends that I keep in my bag at all times.
